Summary

Aerial parts of Sida rhombifolia Linn. (Malvaceae) were extracted successively using varioussolvents and screened for various parameters of antiarthritic activity such as adjuvant-inducedarthritis, motor performance, and histopathological study. The ethanol and the aqueous extractsshowed potent activity; further these extracts were fractionated by using columnchromatography. The fraction ET1 isolated from ethanol extract showed the most potentantiarthritic activity.
